HISTORY
1998
During the coldest winter Hedningarna travels to the Russian Karelen to gather
inspiration to their new album. It is recorded during the spring and summer
the same year. A short tour around Spain that summer. Ulf Ivarsson leaves
the group after the recordings are finished. Totte and Björn together
with the violinplayer Ola Bäckström record a CD with music for the
dancetroup Virvla. It is released at Silence records in 1999. Sanna releases
a soloalbum in Finland.
1999
The new album "Karelia - Visa" is released, and is followed by conserts
in Scandinavia and a three week tour in the USA.
Hedningarna playes live to a dance performance based on their music, made
and performed by Flying Foot Forum in Mineapolis, USA.
The violinplayer Magnus Stinnerbom joines the group.
2000
Sanna leaves the group and is replaced by Liisa Matveinen.
In the fall Bjørn and Anita leaves. Bjørn is replaced by Christian
Svensson.
2001
Tellu Turkka (former Paulasto) rejoines the band and replaces Anita. The band
tours around northern Europe.
2003
The compilation CD 1989-2003 is released, and is followed by a tour in Scandinavia.
After the tour Tellu and Liisa leaves the band. The band starts working on
new material for an instrumental album.
